Description
Assigned to historic Mt. Locust, an old plantation and inn on Mississippi's Natchez Trace Parkway, Anna Pigeon finds a corpse in one of the inn's bedrooms. The body bears what looks like brutal scars from an S&M ritual and on the night table sits an open Bible with passages circled in red. When Anna learns that the deceased is the brother of a man running for local sheriff, her investigation leads her into a deadly mix of hidden agendas, old allegiances and buried secrets.
